The LGBT population is still today, the target of prejudice and discrimination in many spheres and levels, and many times, have their most basic rights denied. It is a very vulnerable population that finds little to no refuge for varied gender expressions or the wide range of sexual diversity in a hostile environment.
VULNERABILITY
> Widespread prejudice and intense discrimination towards the LGBT population.
> The inexistence of laws that guarantee the most essential rights of this population.
> Violence:
→ 326 deaths (9 suicides) in 2014
→ One murder every 27 hours (an increase of 4,1% when compared to the previous year)
→ São Paulo and Minas Gerais states with the highest number of deaths
→ Paraíba and Piauí states with the highest danger to this population
INFORMAL JOB MARKET
> 99% of transvestites and transsexuals are out of the formal job market
> 12% of 2014 murders are the of Transvestites and transsexuals in exercise of their trade
